Managing Partner
Luka Vukelić is the Managing Partner who founded Vukelić Law Office (VLO) in 2021, after gathering 10 years of experience with a leading Croatian commercial law firm. Luka specialises in providing "legal housekeeping" to foreign and national companies, shareholders and Management Board members on all business law aspects, from basic commercial and corporate law issues to banking & financing, RE, insolvency, enforcement, employment, IP, energy and commercial disputes. He was a team member or leader on numerous M&A projects, VC and PE investments, and greenfield and brownfield development projects. In early 2016, Luka was seconded to an international law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP in London, UK where he gained international experience and insight. During his career, Luka was regularly recommended in the EMEA editions of the international legal directory The Legal 500 in various practice areas, while in 2024 and 2025, he was the only Croatian Attorney to be recognized as the "Next Generation Partner" in the "Commercial, Corporate and M&A" and "Dispute Resolution" practice areas. Mario Vukelić joined Vukelić Law Office (VLO) in 2026 as Partner after being a commercial judge for 40 years, during which he served as the President of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia for 12 years consequently. In addition to being an arbitrator at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington and the Croatian Chamber of Economy where he is also a mediator, Mario is or was a member of a number of World Bank and European Union working groups and numerous international organizations (International Insolvency Institute, INSOL Europe, UNICITRAL, etc.) and is a member of the Croatian Canadian Academic Society. Mario is a Law Professor at VERN' University in Zagreb and has held guest lectures on universities such as Pepperdine Caruso Law (Malibu, USA), McGill University (Montreal, Canada), Peking University (China) and University of Zagreb (Croatia). Throughout the years, Mario attended conferences and meetings on venues such as the European Court of Justice, UK Royal Courts of Justice, Supreme Court of the US, Supreme Court of China, Constitutional Court of Germany, etc. He (co)authored numerous books, scientific and expert articles, and participated on amendments of various Croatian laws, most notable being the Civil Procedure Act, Civil Obligations Act and the Insolvency Act. Mario's main points of professional interest are commercial disputes and insolvency.
